Well I have had a hectic 2 weeks with fishing 5 tourneys and also having my daughters benefit.
I fished my first tourney on Thursday night with the Bad Bass Boys Club on East and West Rush Lake, MN, I didn't manage to get any fish to the boat but my partner stuck a couple of them to keep us going. Then it was off to Red Cedar Lake, WI, were my partner and I managed to get into some fish, all of mine where too short of the 14" size minimum, but he did manage a couple of smallies and also a couple of largies, we eaked out a 3rd place. then on sunday we headed to Forest Lake, MN and I fished there, the dock bite was going pretty good, we managed 5 fish and finished 4th place.
Then I headed back out to my next Thursday night tourney, we fished North and South center and managed 2 fish again, we didn't finish dead last, but we where pretty close. I am hoping that we can pick it up this week on coon lake.
Then yesterday we had a tourney out on Knife Lake, MN, we did pretty good, every boat had a nice bag and there was less than one pound that seperated 2nd place to 7th place. there was some nice fish caught and most everyone had over a 2 1/2 pound average.
For my duaghters benefit, we had alot of people show up, friends and family came and gathered to see my daughter, the million dallor miracle child run around and make people smile. We had alot of great door prizes and silent auction items to bid on, not sure on the amount of money that was raised for her medical bills but I am sure every little bit will help. I did spend some time in the dunk tank, that was cold because the high for that day was only 58 degrees and windy out. Hunters Inn up in East Bethel came through and was nice to work with a place that helped us put this together, even one of the owners got into the dunk tank to help as well. Thanks JR.
Now comming up this week, I have a Thursday night Tourney on Coon Lake, MN and I have to get ready to go to Pokegema up by Grand Rapids. I am hoping that we can find someone to watch the kids for me and Teresa so we can go and get away for the weekend and just have some fun fishing and hang out together.
well I am going to sign off for now, I will come back and fill you all in after Coon Lake.
Thanks
Shane

Well for most of us, we have already been out on the water chasing the panfish around and getting the dust off our equipment. As you all are aware, next weekend is the opener for walleyes and Northerns, there is going to be a flurry of people heading north to Mill Lacs and also over to White Bear Lake, where the Govenor is fishing. Me I am going to stay home and if I do decide to head out, it will be with my buddy John, we will probably go and hit centerville for a few hours and see if we can't get some fish into the boat.
I wish you all tight lines on this upcomming weekend and safe travels. remember to limit our kill and not kill our limits.
on a side note, my buddy John Moore is going to be a blogger for the Star Tribune, so please go and check out his blog.
be safe and I will post something next week on how we did if we go out. Our opener isn't for a couple more weeks yet, then the bass season starts.

I am getting ready for the winter to be over and onto the soft water looking for some active fish. I have gotten my reels oiled up, rods all set up, tackle all organized and the wish list all filled out. Bring on the bass fishing season.
I am looking to join Sunrise Bass Club and see if I can make a run to state this year. I am also going to be fishing the Westonka Bass Club Tourney trail as well this year, also looking at fishing the full throttle series as well.
wish everyone tight lines and come back and see hot things are going throughout the year.
thanks for visiting.

I am going to be spending the MN bass opener prefishing for my first tournament on Coon Lake up in East Bethel, MN. I will be using a varity of techniques from cranks to finesse worms. the weeds are still just starting to grow so the fish are not in their usual spawn or post spawn patterns. So I will be focusing my attention on pre spawn and spawning fish. I will be looking in the water depths of 7' and less. I will post my results on my tournament after the first of June.
